The Process of Transforming Scrap Copper Wires into Fine Copper Wire
I wanted to see if I could make my own sized copper wire stock from scrap. Well, it’s doable, but it’s an insane amount of work. Not sure I’ll ever do it again, to be honest!

Fixing My Broken Aquarium to Pour Molten Metal Into It
Просмотров 26 тыс.14 дней назад
I bought a used aquarium to water cast metals, but it was broken and too big. So, I took it apart and made it smaller! I also made a catch tray for easy recovery of metal pellets. I find water cast metal pellets to be the best for small casting and especially for mixing alloy. The best way to store scrap metals. If you need a detailed guide on making aquariums I've watched this one by @SerpaDes...

Welcome to the third installment of the "Serpent in the Blade" series! In this episode, we embark on the process of crafting the sword's fittings: the guard and two pommel pieces cast in bronze. For this classic bronze alloy, I've utilized a blend of 90% copper, 10% tin, and a 3% addition of lead. The patterns are crafted from MDF, chosen for its ease of grinding and carving, as well as its den...

Acid or ferric chloride makes a previously dull file 'feel' sharper' .... but not for very long. All you are doing is roughing the surface so it acts like sandpaper or a whetstone and grinds away metal rather than cutting it. Better than nothing I guess, but you will never get the cutting speed or surface finish afforded by a good clean sharp file.

For clarification, did you let the pastes and sprays completely dry before stropping?

Very nice, but unless I missed it you never quenched to harden the steel so it may look like a sword but it is not a functional one

It would probably be interesting to see how one could contrive and make this fantastic picker using traditional Japanese technology, despite the fact that it is a trihedron and it is twisted into a spiral. One can imagine a traditional Japanese steel package and even a zonal hardening-hamon made in clay. It was possible to forge a one-piece shank with holes for the mikugi pin and the brand of the author. It would be a stylish project. But this sex toy, despite something like tsuka and tsuba in the Japanese style, has nothing to do with Japan, it's not even stylization. The project could have been very interesting, but no, it didn't happen.
